What You Will Be Doing
Partnering with business and product development teams to support ongoing innovation and expansion under Legal by Design service delivery model;
Engaging with business partners to understand their operational objectives and challenges and learn how the legal function may better serve as a strategic partner;
Providing comprehensive and coordinated legal support across commercial functions, including sales, marketing, customer success, and product development;
Advising internal employees at all levels of the organization on a wide variety of complex and developing legal issues, including legal and business risk, privacy and data governance, intellectual property, and contracting requirements and best practices;
Reviewing, drafting, and negotiating complex commercial agreements, including customer, service, license, consulting, vendor, and data processing agreements;
Creating and improving contract templates, playbooks, and processes to support the business team;
Providing strategic guidance to assess and mitigate legal and business risk;
Conducting or coordinating research on a variety of legal issues; and
Engaging with internal and external personnel and resources to improve effectiveness and efficiency of legal services and fulfill our mission: to safeguard the future.
Outstanding academic credentials and active member in good standing of U.S. state bar.
At least seven years’ relevant work experience including both law firm and in-house experience.
Commercial transactional experience with technology emphasis, preferably in a highly regulated industry.
Able to work both independently and collaboratively, meeting demanding deadlines and managing complex projects in a fast-paced environment.
Highly organized and exceptionally responsive to internal customers.
Sound and practical business judgment with ability to think strategically and establish trusted relationships with business teams.
Proven ability to balance competing risks and priorities.
Excellent communication skills with a demonstrated ability to effectively and proactively provide quick, concise, and practical legal guidance and support, reframing challenges into opportunities.
